Angel (Touch Me) - The 2 Bears

Song: Angel (Touch Me)
Artist: The 2 Bears
Album: The Night is Young

First single from the sophomore album of British duo The 2 Bears feat. Raf Rundell and Joe Goddard (of Hot Chip.)  The Night is Young is being released later this year, about 2.5 years after their debut Be Strong.  They have just released a three-track EP entitled Lambs Bread and Weepers, which is pretty good but lyrically such a downer.

Oddly, "Angel (Touch Me)" is really hopefully and wonderfully transcendent... with more 90s House piano!  Looking forward to the record.

Enjoy.

What's the News - Basement Jaxx

Song: What's the News
Artist: Basement Jaxx
Album: Junto

Really digging Basement Jaxx's seventh studio album Junto.  Please listen to it now.

If you don't have ALL that time right now, please just listen to the why-hasn't-this-been-a-single-yet corker "What's the News" which is part filth, part rage, and 100% YES-YES-YES.

It's also very worth checking out the Deluxe edition which includes previous singles "Back 2 the Wild" and "What a Difference Your Love Makes."

Enjoy.

Break the Rules - Charli XCX

Song: Break the Rules
Artist: Charli XCX
Album: Sucker

Nice to see someone with underground success finally hit the mainstream.  And I've been a champion for a while.

First "Fancy" and then "Boom Clap," it's been a good Summer for Charli.  "Break the Rules" is the first official single from her upcoming sophomore album Sucker.  I like it, despite being a little juvenile lyrically compared to her debut, sonically it's new territory that melds Garbage-esque dance-rock and unstandard 'EDM.'

Love her.  Get to know her!

Shake it Off - Taylor Swift

Song: Shake it Off
Artist: Taylor Swift
Album: 1989

I hate myself for enjoying this.

I really sort of loathe her.

She looks great in this video though.

Ugh this will be in your head all day and night.

Money Grabber - Fitz and the Tantrums

Song: Money Grabber
Artist: Fitz and the Tantrums
Album: Pickin' Up the Pieces

Neo-soul/indie pop group from Los Angeles formed in 2008.  I Shazamed this track in a pub a couple Sunday's ago wanting to know what classic soul track it was.  It's from 2010, their debut album which is worth checking out.

Enjoy.

Your Love - Moko

Song: Your Love
Artist: Moko
Album: Gold

U.K. soul singer of Ghanaian descent, Moko is currently best known as the vocalist on Chase & Status' "Count on Me." She released a Massive Attack-ian trip hop E.P. called Black in October of last year, but has recently released two upbeat tracks I'm digging, the 90s Pop-House corker "Your Love," and "With You."

Between her and Kiesza, we have a bubbling 90s revival happening here.  Amazing.

Moko is striking and beautiful and might be the next big thing.

Enjoy.

Please Say You Will feat. Adam Klopp - Kaskade

Song: Please Say You Will feat. Adam Klopp
Artist: Kaskade
Album: Redux EP

Digital release of initially vinyl-only EP, Kaskade's Redux EP was released in June and it's GREAT.  First track "Please Say You Will" is a sexy, downtempo stunner, and "Catalyst" with Wild Children is Pop-House gold.  The whole EP is worth hearing.

You should listen to this.

It Was Always You - Maroon 5

Song: It Was Always You
Artist: Maroon 5
Album: V

I go from loathing, to tolerating, to guiltily enjoying Maroon 5.  (And back.)  They lead their fifth studio album with the Maroon-by-numbers "Maps" which is alright, more enjoyable than a lot of their recent material, but I am back into "guiltily enjoying" mode with this new track from the album (just a promo single.)  "It Was Always You" is a slick little number that I'm surprised I like as much as I do.

Deep Into the Night - Ali Love

Song: Deep Into the Night
Artist: Ali Love
Album: P.U.M.P.

Sexy psychedelic-electro sleaze odyssey of an album.  P.U.M.P. comes a full four years after Ali's first but really second album Love Harder.  So this is his second but really third album.

He's also in Hot Natured.
